The process that leads to a print /artist's book

Artist's Books

20 February 2024

A flagbook made from one of my prints

I take my dogs for a walk twice a day, in the morning for exercise and the afternoon for 'socialise'. The two places we frequent are the Dog park, also known as the Scout Bowl at the Civic centre, and the Eco trail, which is near the Westville Country club squash courts.

During the walk I pick up brightly coloured leaves that have fallen during the night, take them home, and if my schedule permits I make prints from the leaves. At a later stage I apply metallic foil elements to the prints, type the relevant information onto the pages and make these into artist's book, usually a flagbook.

My daily finds and prints are often shared via my Instagram account.
